The Police Service Board plays a vital role in ensuring that policing reflects community values in London. The Board represents public interests, fosters transparency, and ensures meaningful engagement between residents and the London Police Service (LPS). This section highlights how we connect with the community through consultations, advisory panels, scholarships and engagement initiatives.

Consultations and Input

Advisory Panels

Anti-Racism Advisory Panel (ARAP)

The Anti-Racism Advisory Panel (ARAP) advises the Board on eliminating systemic racism within policing. Comprised of community members and experts, the panel provides recommendations on policies, training and practices that promote equity and inclusion in law enforcement. Scholarships and Awards

The Board supports youth education and career development through scholarships that recognize leadership, community involvement and academic excellence:

  • Lewis Coray Trailblazer Sponsorship Award: This award Celebrates Black youth leadership and achievement. Winners receive a bursary and a summer employment opportunity with the London Police Service. It is awarded annually during Black History Month.
  • YIPI Scholarship:  This scholarship supports graduates of the Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) who are pursuing post-secondary education. It helps former YIPI participants to continue their studies and build on their policing and community service experience. Click here for the Yipi Scholarship Application.

  • Fanshawe College Award: Presented to a high-achieving student in the Police Foundations or Protection, Security & Investigations programs, this award recognizes dedication to law enforcement and public safety.
  • Western University Award: A scholarship available to a full-time student at Western University, supporting academic success across any faculty or program. Click here for the Western University Award Application 2025-2026.
