London Police Service Boardroom

London, ON – The London Police Service Board (the Board) welcomes Mike Wallace as its newest member, appointed by the Province of Ontario. Having served as both a Member of Parliament and a Municipal Councillor, Mr. Wallace brings over 22 years of experience at both the federal and municipal levels of government.

Throughout his career, Mr. Wallace has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service, leadership, and community engagement. As a Member of Parliament, he chaired the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, served on the Standing Committee on Finance, and was part of the all-party working group addressing human trafficking. Mike’s contributions have been recognized through the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Order of Japan, for his leadership in strengthening relations between the Canadian and Japanese governments.

Mr. Wallace has been actively involved in London’s Whole of Community Response to Health and Homelessness Strategic and Accountability Committee since its inception and serves as a key member of the London Chamber of Commerce Government Relations Committee. In his role as Executive Director of the London Development Institute, Mike continues to provide valuable insights from the business community to support collaborative approaches to local planning, development, and community well-being.

As we continue to strengthen the foundation for a modern and effective Police Service in the years ahead, the Board is pleased to welcome Mr. Wallace as its newest Provincial appointee,” said Board Chair Ryan Gauss. “His extensive experience in government, combined with a deep understanding of community and economic development, will provide valuable insight as the Board works to enhance public safety and build trust between the Service and the community.“It is an immense honour to be appointed as a member of the London Police Service Board. I understand that public safety plays an essential role in the livability and well-being of our city,” said Mr. Wallace. “I look forward to using this opportunity to help safeguard London’s diverse communities and support the Board in its important work.”

Mr. Wallace will be sworn in at the November 24th, 2025, Board meeting, prior to the closed session. The meeting agenda and timing will be released one week before the meeting.
